The SocketeerYour sock maker is a young Christian woman, born and bred in the South. She is fairly new in the reenacting world, but has an interest in bringing the period to life in as accurate sense as possible.
Ever since her mother taught her to knit at the age of 12, she has enjoyed it. She made her first pair of woolen socks at the age of 14 and discovered in the process that sock knitting is fun! Combine these two interests and the possibility to perhaps make a little cash into the bargain, she decided to begin her own business specializing in knitted soldier's socks. The first name for her business that came to mind was "Rebel Gray Socketeer". It stuck, even though you will not find the word 'socketeer' in the dictionary. |
